The band is
nearly finished with this (one epic song to go), but

MASTERING, let alone having the CDs pressed. It's a

Also, there is a CONNECTION between two dates that no
one has
mentioned (or figured out, but this will soon change).

and Tool fans will get some additional info later
TODAY, and again in
the next couple of days, although it would be better

band members themselves (more news about this, also in

The guys are hard at work completing the mix (in fact,
Danny called
me from the studio at 1:45 AM about getting together
for a JAN 17th
drink (which we've done for about 15 years, usually
after the Lodge
business is taken care of). This should tell you that
they're
working overtime to finish a record that all of us
who've heard it
consider to be their best yet!

There's nothing in there that warrents a new news post really. They're still mixing, like he said. And if he's gonna update in the next couple days, he doesn't need to update the site to tell us he's gonna update.

He mentioned mastering and cds being pressed. does this mean that its safe to say that the artwork and video may be done?

Then we would prepare for an update instead of having this waiting nonsense with the posts coming out of nowhere.

Video doesn't effect the CD, but the artwork will be done before the mastering is done, obviously. No need to mention the artwork.

Okay, but knowing that they're one song away from having the album mixed is cool. Also, he intimates that we'll see the single BEFORE Spring (late March)!!! That's a nice little nugget.

I think he also give a clue toward album material (the 2 dates are connected comment), but I'm through with trying to solve puzzles, I just want to know the facts.

Also seems to imply there may be another chat with the band? (The part about hearing info from the band members themselves.)

I would think he meant we´ll see / hear the single before that spring release, not necessarily before spring.

He would probably update when the mixing is done, which is better to know that the next phase is here.

A single before the album is generally how labels do it.

I don't know about the dates, but it seems like they aren't even apparent yet so there's no way we could find a connection. Simply saying there's dates to think about and not giving the dates would be worse then the November Snoozeletter.

The band members can update the site, and they might when a particular peice of information is finally revealed. Not necessarily a chat.

Reading back through the e-mail, I'm not sure if he meant no one had yet mentioned the two dates or no one had mentioned the connection between the two dates.
